Oh, 2011: I’m going to miss you the most. I’m not ready for 2012.

Today is the last day of publishing in 2011 for insideARM.com before we take a week’s break to do year-endish things like various holidays (I really let myself go on Oatmeal Muffin Day you guys), trips to Disney World (you’re going to want to subscribe to Stephanie Eidelman’s newsletter, “Great Ideas I Had — Oh, Wait…” because it’ll be filled with other terrific things like Build an expensive home near Topanga Canyon because what? Wildfires? Get outta here! and Watching Basic Instinct With Your Mom Who Just Started Dating Again), and trying to convince the office that running out of gas on the way to the midwest was somehow not the driver’s fault. (“I could say ‘Elves’ to him,/But it’s not elves exactly, and I’d rather/He said it for himself.“)

When we come back to you all on 3 January, however, it’ll be to an upgraded site design that will enhance the reading experience, making it easier for you to get to the content that matters to you most — including mobile devices. (Reading insideARM.com on the bus/train/can? Don’t mind if I do!) It’s going to be better than the time I thought 2010 was going to be the year where I wore more turtlenecks, because as it turns out, there is no year where I should be wearing more turtlenecks. (Pro-tip: You need a neck to wear a turtleneck. You’re welcome.)

In closing: I don’t know what any of you do around this time of year. Christmas? Hanukkah? Festivus? Kwanza? Maybe nothing. Maybe everything. Maybe you take a moment to reflect on a year. Maybe we’ll end with Robert Frost:
