Since the law firm’s inception in 1981, the firm has effectively advocated for and represented its clients. The firm is committed to resolving legal matters in a professional and ethical manner and works hard to maintain the high standards that its clients and peers expect. They have received performance awards from numerous national clients. He has been a member for 10 years, since 2003.

The state slogan of Hawaii is “The Islands of Aloha.” Marvin’s firm does collection work on most of the islands. He reminds us, “People in the state of Hawaii live on 7 of the 8 major islands. There are courts on most of them. Attorneys cannot drive from one island to another. The only feasible way to travel between islands for court appearances is by airplane. With our statewide practice, we are able to handle cases in all state and federal courts throughout Hawaii.”

Marvin has been working in the debt collection industry for 35 years. Over 80 percent of his law firm’s practice is debt collection, including foreclosure work. The remainder of his practice involves government relations, lobbying, real estate, business, estate planning, and probate. Working at his law firm with an excellent team of attorneys, managers, legal assistants, collection and office assistants is what he enjoys most about his job. When he’s not working, he enjoys activities with his family and friends. He also enjoys traveling to the mainland and to foreign countries.

Marvin recounts that, “Occasionally, I have gone to local stores where the cashiers, after learning my name, have told me that they had owed money on an account that my law firm was handling, and that they were satisfied with how the situation was resolved. I tell this story to my law firm team to emphasize that we must always treat the debtors in a civil and professional manner, and we must ensure that any resolution of their accounts is done on a ‘win-win’ basis.”

Marvin, a resident of Honolulu, is the Managing Member of the law firm. He has been a member of the National List for for 10 years, since 2003.
