Experian Group Limited, a global information solutions provider, today announced that the inquiry by the U.S. Department of Justice Antitrust Division into VantageScore(SM) has been closed without action. The Department of Justice had issued an informal request for information nine months ago following the March 2006 introduction of VantageScore.

"We are very pleased that the Department of Justice has closed its inquiry," said Kerry Williams, group president of Experian Information Solutions. "Experian was always confident the inquiry by the Department of Justice would be closed in a favorable manner to Experian. Experian and VantageScore Solutions, LLC carefully considered regulatory requirements to insure that VantageScore increases competition and choice in the credit scoring industry."
