In the least inspiring Everybody Wins! story of the week — granted, it’s only Tuesday — Kohl’s, Chase, and Capital One have all reached some sort of weird understanding about the department store’s credit line.

As reported here yesterday, over the weekend Capital One was somehow able to sweet-talk Kohl’s — that place your mom shops for summer smocks and high-waisted jeans — into switching credit card providers, bumping out incumbant Chase.

However, perhaps feeling guilty the morning after, Kohl’s — home of some seriously ugly purses — has decided not to entirely cut its ties with Chase. While Chase won’t be servicing Kohl’s credit card accounts, they will be able to offer Chase Ultimate Rewards members a wide array of, well, ultimate rewards. (No word yet on whether or not one of the Ultimate Rewards will be grief counseling for recipients of this Simulated Crystal Leopard Bangle Watch that is an actual thing that exists and that you can buy but, wow, you really shouldn’t.)

Clearly, Capital One and their army of vikings were able to offer Kohl’s the same service as Chase, but at a lower price-point. However, Kohl’s — that place you shop when Target’s out of your way — probably didn’t want to foment ill will among its Chase card customers, and this summer 2011 plan is to help ease the sting for those people who shouldn’t be decorating their own homes.

Just when you think there are no more win-win situations: along comes Kohl’s — the place you go to when you want your walls to look like a Successories poster.
