Thanks to Citigroup, Tucson, Arizona, will see about an additional 1,000 jobs created as the financial giant looks to expand it Southeast Side call centers over the next two years.



The Tucson centers handle about 1 million inbound and outbound calls each month dealing with customers for Citi Cards, Citi Financial Auto, CitiMortgage and Citibank.



Randy McDonald, site president for Citigroup, told the Arizona Daily Star that the Tucson site won the additional work because of the “phenomenal results” the existing call centers have accomplished in slightly more than two years since starting up. The growth of the Tucson site is unprecedented in the company, which has more than 50 similar operations in the country, he said.
