Hello from the show floor of the 16th Annual Debt Buyers Association International Conference. Almost 2,000 attendees and over 100 exhibitors from debt buyers, collections organizations and credit issuers are gathered in Las Vegas this week to discuss the latest trends in the debt purchasing industry.

Many of the collections organizations I spoke with today were very cloud-curious and interested in learning how to best modernize their processes. We’ll continue to see contact centers migrate towards the cloud, driven largely by the increased flexibility and cost effectiveness that cloud services have on bottom line profitability. For example, SoundBite’s Cloud Predictive Dialer continues to gain great traction within collection organizations, with our clients seeing not only an increase in customer contacts and agent productivity, but also improved scalability and reliability – all of which are helping them collect more consumer debt.
Mobile and compliance are hot conversation topics as well. DBA attendees who participated in our recent webinar Mobilizing Your Collections, wanted to learn more about augmenting their existing contact methods with compliant mobile strategies including missed payment alerts, self-service payments, payment authorizations, and two-way automated and agent-assisted text messaging dialogs.
