ARMing Heroes, the accounts receivable management industry’s non-profit dedicated to serving U.S. military veterans (hence “ARM” in “ARMing”), raised a total of $27,157 from the industry for the organization’s Second Annual No Debts for Vets Charity Fundraising Drive (“the drive”). This exceeds by more than 8% the organization’s stated goal of raising $25,000 between September 11, 2011, and Veterans Day, November 11, 2011. Here are the people and companies supporting military veterans in 2011 through this industry-specific effort: http://www.armingheroes.org/arming-heroes/donors.

One of the companies that stepped up at the end of the drive to ensure ARMing Heroes would reach this year’s $25,000 goal was Peregrin Services, which provides a variety of services geared toward credit counseling agencies and creditors. When asked why his company supports ARMing Heroes, Mike Morency, President at Peregrin stated, “I feel that the organization is better positioned to quickly help those who most need help including those who may not know how to go about accessing other financial benefits that may be available to them. As if these were not reason enough, ARMing Heroes’ unique ability to shine a light on how much the ARM industry cares about veterans should motivate everyone in the industry to support this cause.”

What’s Next?

ARMing Heroes has extended by two weeks the due date for applications from veterans and family members who want to apply for a grant. The No Debts for Vets application is located on the left-hand side of www.armingheroes.org. Completed applications received will be reviewed by the board of trustees, and grants will be made in time for the holidays.

Also, for the first time this year ARMing Heroes will recognize companies with the highest ratio of dollars donated per employee, combining corporate and employee funds, in various categories. The organization is currently reviewing donation totals and comparing those with the number of employees each participating company has and will announce the winners separately before the holidays.
