Over 70% of Cabot Financial and Apex Credit Management collections staff have achieved CSA (Credit Services Association) accreditation as part of the pilot of the CSA’s Collector Accreditation Initiative (CAI).  The accreditation means that both companies will be included in the first wave of businesses to have achieved this status within the debt purchase and collections industry.

The accreditation process took place over June and July and all collectors who passed the rigorous testing process have been awarded a six-month accreditation certificate from the CSA. Achieving accreditation is essential to ensure that the knowledge and understanding of collections staff is to a professional and acceptable standard for the industry.

During the testing process, candidates had to demonstrate clearly their understanding of key subjects such as the CSA’s Code of Practice, OFT guidance, TCF, dispute resolution and Acts of Parliament relevant to the industry.

The newly introduced CSA accreditation sets a high standard and is a seal of approval for those currently working within collections. The accreditation has been designed to ensure that collections practitioners have the required level of skill and understanding and work to exacting standards.
