On August 7, 2013, a group of Professional Credit Service (PCS) employees volunteered 33 hours at the St. Vincent de Paul Warehouse located on Chad Drive in Eugene, Ore. as part the company’s ReachOut community service initiative.

Karla Torres, Human Resources Manager at PCS said, “Workplace volunteering connects employees with community organizations such as St. Vincent de Paul, in a meaningful way to benefit the community, employees, and company. To support this effort, the ReachOut program was established at PCS to give each employee the opportunity to take up to 40 hours annually of paid time off to volunteer with various charitable organizations that help improve the physical and mental well-being of individuals and families.”

Since its inception in 2009, the ReachOut program has strengthened the PCS culture of service, transformed lives and helped shape a healthier community.  PCS is making great progress toward the company’s aspiration of 100 percent employee participation in a service or donation activity each year.

“Thank you so much for providing us with such a great group of energetic volunteers,” said Kathy Wilson, Volunteer Coordinator for St. Vincent de Paul. “The group sorted through and boxed the school supplies in record time. They then graciously transitioned over to helping in our retail store; some sorting through the toy aisle, some sorting belts, purses, textiles, and hats, some rearranging displays and some pulling old product and reorganizing shelves.”
