Collection Agency Raises Over $12,000 for Making Strides Against Breast Cancer

American Profit Recovery, a collection agency with offices in Massachusetts, Michigan and North Carolina, has announced that the totals are in and they have raised $12,437 for the Making Strides Against Breast Cancer Walks this year.

The collection agency raised the funds in a number of ways including a percentage of sales during the month of October, employee engagement and incentives and donations from family, friends and vendors.

This is the fourth year that American Profit Recovery has participated in the Making Strides Against Breast Cancer Walks. In total, the company has raised an estimated $50,000 in the fight against breast cancer and has had as many as 90 walkers participate. The company has also promoted their efforts at various trade shows and other venues to help raise even more money.

While the collection agency donated five percent of all sales for the month of October, employees also did their part by participating in the annual employee week celebration which gave them the opportunity to raise money internally. Employees also paid cash for dress down days and paid to have their fellow employees wear a clown costume for the day. In all they saw over $12,000 go to fight the war on breast cancer.

“We have made this effort a tradition here and part of our culture at American Profit Recovery and we take it very seriously, stated Jeff DiMatteo, a partner at the collection agency. “We have fun raising the money for this important cause but we never lose sight of what the real goal is here; to raise money and awareness to combat this awful disease.”

American Profit Recovery now embarks on their next charitable effort which is the annual Adopt a Family program in which they adopt several families in the cities they have offices in. They will work in conjunction with social services agencies to identify those families and their needs and employees will shop for toys, clothing and other needed items for the holidays.
