Weltman, Weinberg & Reis Co., L.P.A. (WWR) is pleased to announce that partners Alan H. Weinberg and Larry R. Rothenberg were selected as Ohio Super Lawyers for 2009.  WWR Associate Jennifer M. Monty was selected as an Ohio Rising Star.

Alan Weinberg and Larry Rothenberg were among the top five percent of Ohio’s licensed attorneys named an Ohio Super Lawyer.  The list, a joint project of Law and Politics Magazine and Cincinnati Magazine, surveyed more than 34,000 attorneys across Ohio.  The attorneys were asked to nominate the best lawyers in the state that they have personally observed in action.

Jennifer M. Monty was among 2.5 percent of Ohio’s licensed attorneys named an Ohio Rising Star.  The list, also a joint project of Law and Politics Magazine and Cincinnati Magazine, recognizes the top up-and-coming attorneys in the state – those who are 40 years old or younger or who have been practicing for 10 years or less.  Selections are made through peer nominations and independent research on candidates.

Alan Weinberg is the Managing Partner of WWR and is based in the Cleveland office.  This is the sixth consecutive year Mr. Weinberg has been recognized as an Ohio Super Lawyer.  Mr. Weinberg received a B.A. magna cum laude , Phi Beta Kappa in Mathematics from the Boston University in 1971 and a J.D. from the Case Western Reserve University School of Law in 1974.  A member of the Ohio State and Cleveland Metropolitan Bar Associations, Mr. Weinberg is licensed in Ohio.  He is admitted to practice before the U.S. District Court (Northern and Southern Districts of OH) and the U.S. Supreme Court.  Mr. Weinberg is currently a member of the Bankruptcy and Commercial Law sections of the Cleveland Metropolitan Bar Association, the Commercial Law League of America, the National Association of Retail Collection Attorneys, the Northern Ohio Credit Association and the Ohio Creditors Attorney Association (Educational Chairman).  In addition to being certified as a Creditors’ Rights Specialist by the American Board of Certification, Mr. Weinberg was appointed to Special Counsel by the Ohio Attorney General.  He serves as a Board Member for Care Alliance.  Mr. Weinberg can be reached at (216) 685-1100 or aweinberg@weltman.com.

Larry Rothenberg is the partner in charge of managing the Foreclosure/Eviction department of the Cleveland office of WWR.  This is the fourth year that Mr. Rothenberg has been recognized as an Ohio Super Lawyer.  Mr. Rothenberg received a B.B.A. summa cum laude from Ohio University in 1975 and a J.D. from The Ohio State University Michael E. Moritz College of Law in 1978.  A member of the Ohio State and Cleveland Metropolitan Bar Associations, Mr. Rothenberg is licensed in Ohio and admitted to practice before the U.S. District Court (Northern District of OH) and the Sixth Circuit Court of Appeals.   He is a member of the American Legal and Financial Network and served as a Past President for the Mortgage Servicing Society of Northeast Ohio.  He has also served as Chairman of the Foreclosure Procedures Committee and Chairman of the Real Estate section of the former Cleveland Bar Association as well as Chairman of the Real Estate Law Institute and Chairman of the Real Property Committee of the former Cuyahoga County Bar Association.  Mr. Rothenberg is a frequent lecturer on foreclosure and related issues and is the author of the Ohio Jurisdictional Summary, The Law of Distressed Real Estate, published by the West Group.  Mr. Rothenberg can be reached at (216) 685-1135 or lrothenberg@weltman.com.

Jennifer M.
