When debtors have excuses why they cannot pay their bills, now collectors can offer referrals for relief. CareConnect USA has made available a free list of financial help lines for collectors to give out when their debtors complain about their money woes in order to avoid paying creditors.

In areas such as health care, collectors are looking for effective ways to have a kinder, gentler tone in their activities. Collectors can keep the national help lines handy to give out to troubled debtors for help with issues like Child Support, Child Care Subsidies, Mortgage Payments, Tax Relief, Discount Medications, and Identity Theft.

The Help Lines are listed for quick reference by the collector. For example, a debtor needing assistance with child support payments could be referred to the Department of Health and Human Services for help.

The lists come on bookmark-shaped cards that can be attached to a computer monitor for easy reference. Since CareConnect USA routes all the calls, the numbers on the cards will never be out of date. To receive a free supply, collectors may make their requests to info@careconnectusa.org or call 800-291-1068.

According to the American Hospital Association, aggressive collection tactics can alienate patients and harm a hospital’s reputation. As they encourage collectors within the industry to use a softer, counseling type tone, a list of help lines can be a handy reference tool. Some agencies even believe they collect more, when they can steer debtors to find relief with their other financial problems.
