General Service Bureau Inc. (GSB), a nationwide collection agency serving primarily healthcare creditors, has been distinguished with the prestigious Better Business Bureau (BBB) Integrity Award for 2011 at an award ceremony at Embassy Suites in LaVista, NE on Thursday, September 15, 2011.

This award focuses on demonstrated ethical business practices with key stakeholders including customers, employees and the community at large, rather than a company’s growth, profitability or popularity. The Integrity Award Winners were chosen by an independent panel of judges consisting of Omaha business leaders and members of the academic community.

This marks the third time GSB and it’s sister company, Early Out Services Inc. (EOS) have been given this award for excellence in ethical business practices. GSB first received the award in 2007 and EOS received the same distinction in 2010.

“The BBB Integrity Award winners have shown that ethics and integrity are core values of their organization,” said Jim Hegarty, president and chief executive officer, of the Better Business Bureau, Inc. serving Nebraska, South Dakota and southwest Iowa. “The 2011 BBB Integrity Award Winners join an elite group of organizations that realize dealing fairly and honestly with employees, customers and partners are central to profitability and growth. They serve as role models for the business community in Omaha, and the Better Business Bureau Foundation is pleased to honor them with this prestigious award. ”

Chairman of the Board Bob Leavitt commented, “This award is a tremendous tribute to the dedicated hardworking staff at GSB, who at every level of the company have bought into the core values that guide us towards fulfilling our mission of “Enhancing the Financial Well-Being of Others.” I could not be more proud of not just how they conduct themselves, but that people really do notice and pay attention when you do business the right way.”

The Better Business Bureau, Inc. (BBB) has been serving the region for more than 70 years and is a private, nonprofit organization dedicated to promoting trust between consumers and the business community. Today, the BBB has a membership of approximately 8,000 companies in Nebraska, South Dakota and southwest Iowa. The BBB annually honors organizations and companies that demonstrate exceptional business ethics with the prestigious Integrity Award. As a matter of policy, the BBB does not endorse any product, service or company.

Early Out Services, Inc. (EOS) and General Service Bureau, Inc. (GSB) are two separate companies that operate under the same mission of “Enhancing the Financial Well-Being of Others.” EOS and GSB collectively comprise a family-owned and operated organization. Since 1946, the Omaha, Nebraska based group has been a leader in receivables management services for healthcare organizations nationwide. EOS delivers first-party self-pay management and insurance follow-up/resolution programs to the healthcare industry, operating as an extension of the business office, while GSB provides primary and secondary third-party bad debt recovery services to the healthcare industry.
