MINNEAPOLIS – ACA International, the Association of Credit and Collection Professionals, congratulates long-time member Jay Rickman, Sr. on his retirement from AMCOL Systems, a family-owned business in Columbia, S.C., he started with his wife in 1976.

“Jay Rickman is an exceptional leader nationally, and with the South Carolina Collectors Association, where he has left an indelible legacy as a pioneer and champion for third party debt collection,” said ACA International President Martin Sher. “On behalf of ACA International, we’ll miss Jay and wish him all the best as seeks new life opportunities. We hope he’ll choose to remain actively involved in ACA and as a tireless advocate for the betterment of our industry.”

Jay and his wife Mary joined ACA International in 1979, becoming active in the association’s government affairs efforts, serving on numerous committees including more than 18 years on the ACA Board of Directors.  He has been a driving force in creating and leading the South Carolina Collectors Association, which received the ACA Unit Certificate of Excellence for three consecutive years.  Rickman also received the Unit Leader of the Year Award in 2005.

An ACA Certified Instructor, Rickman has earned both Fellow and Scholar certificates and received the International Fellowship of Certified Collection Executives. A veteran of more than 20 ACA Conventions, he has been recognized for his leadership including the 2001 James K. Erickson Continuous Service Award and the 1999 ACA International Hall of Fame Paul Bunyan Award.
