While the New York Times may not be keen on the Debt Collection Industry, Libertarian A-Squad Cheerleader Llewellyn H. Rockwell, Jr., has dusted off his pompoms, stretched out for some high kicks, and written a defense of the collection industry.

Being a Libertarian, Rockwell, Jr., brings a different slant to the argument: ?The US government is in no position to complain about rough tactics in the seizure of property.? So what starts out as an ostensible defense of the collection industry ? Rockwell, Jr., titles his screed ?In Defense of Debt Collection? ? is really more about governmental over-investment into the private business affairs of citizens.

?Debt collection, then,? according to Rockwell, Jr., ?is nothing but the use of retributive force in the defense of property ? a wholly legitimate function of some agencies in a free society. But leave it to the government,? he concludes, ?to make life hard for those who are using force for legitimate reasons.?
