Russian TV network DTV is airing a new scripted drama that The St. Petersburg Times says “aims to bring a touch of humanity to [debt collection], which for one reason or another, has always had a bit of an image problem.”

The show, “Bailiffs,” is filmed in a real office of government collection agents (in most parts of the world, the term “bailiffs” typically refers to deputized collectors recovering on behalf of governments), and features real debt collectors as background actors. But the series is not a true reality TV program, as the main characters are played by professional actors.

The series is being aired in the daytime (1 pm local time) lineup on DTV.

A reviewer for the St. Petersburg Times noted that the show spends a lot of time explaining what bailiffs actually do, since few people know those tricky details.
