We have all seen glimpses of what the individuals personally touched by the earthquakes in Haiti are going through on the news, internet, and radio; from the distant comforts of a world that affords us the luxury of not being able to fully comprehend such devastation.  Aware that it is simply not possible for each of us to go there; donating seems the best choice to help make a viable difference so that those left behind can rebuild their lives.

And that is why National Recovery Service in Ottawa Kansas matched and donated the  funds collected from Collector’s For Change to the American Red Cross.  The total donated was $894 and will be matched by People’s bank to benefit the efforts in Haiti.

NRS has a strong reputation for giving back to their local community.  With donations to such organizations as Franklin County Cancer Foundation, Local school districts, KVC, and the local Youth Action Council; it is evident they want to make a difference in  their community.

Through their Collector’s For Change project, NRS has made an ongoing commitment to the community on a monthly basis.

The final amount donated may be small in relation to the catastrophes that have occurred but NRS feels confident that their modest contribution will help make a difference.
