A napkin may not last twenty-five years, but a business idea on the back of one did. IAT, started by twin brothers with $70,000 and an idea on a napkin, celebrates its 25th anniversary March 6, 2011.

A Utah-based dialing technology company, IAT began in 1986 by Scott and Kent Sorensen. More than two decades later, the company is a leading provider of predictive dialer and IVR messaging in the collections industry.

“It takes more than a good idea to thrive in the highly competitive technology business, especially for two and a half decades,” said Dave Rudd, IAT co-owner and Sr. VP of Finance & Administration. “IAT boasts top-notch dialer technology solutions, smart and trustworthy employees, loyal customers, strong relationships with third-party vendors and a prominent market niche position.”

IAT provides hosted, site-premised and hybrid dialing solutions. Many of its customers have been using IAT products for more than ten years. Several have been customers since the company’s inception.

“IAT makes listening to our customers’ needs and requests a priority,” said Randy Cooper, IAT co-owner and CEO/President. “Throughout IAT’s history, many features and even entire products have been created based on customer suggestions. I’m proud of the way IAT has conducted itself in the industry for the past 25 years and look forward to its contribution and development over the next 25 years.”

Company employees will celebrate the anniversary at the Deseret Star Playhouse. Notable guests for the evening include the Mayor of Murray, Dan Snarr, and Scott Sorensen, one of IAT’s first co-owners.
