Muncie, Ind. – Ontario Systems, a leading provider of accounts receivable and revenue recovery solutions for the collections and health care industries, announces its operations and product development capability has been rated at Maturity Level 2 of the Capability Maturity Model Integration (CMMI®). Managed by Carnegie Mellon University’s Software Engineering Institute, and awarded only after a completed, intensive appraisal, a CMMI Maturity Level 2 rating is an internationally recognized designation for development and maintenance activities that covers the product lifecycle from conception through delivery and maintenance. Ontario Systems’ organizational training capability has also been appraised at CMMI Capability Level 3.

Ontario Systems’ customers will have additional peace of mind knowing the development processes for their software is has been certified, placing Ontario Systems among the select few companies in the accounts receivable management industry to earn this distinction.

CMMI is a process improvement and benchmarking model that provides organizations with the essential elements of effective processes that ultimately improve their performance. CMMI can be used to guide process improvement across a project, a division, or an entire organization. It helps integrate traditionally separate organizational functions, sets process improvement goals and priorities, provides guidance for quality processes, and provides a point of reference for appraising current processes.

“We are extremely proud to have earned these international best practice benchmarks. These achievements are among the most notable milestones in our company’s rich history as we continue to raise the bar of excellence within our industry,” said Ron Fauquher, chief strategy officer, Ontario Systems. “In today’s collection marketplace, customers need a solution provider that is knowledgeable and committed to providing internal processes and expert solutions that far exceed the minimum compliance standards required of them in a vastly complex mix of regulation, best practices and law. The CMMI Level 2 rating proves once again that Ontario is the safe and secure solution in the ARM and health care industries and a trusted advisor for our partners and customers.”

The CMMI model was developed by a coalition of industry, government agencies and the Software Engineering Institute to objectively assess the full range of an organization’s software and systems engineering and program management, as well as organizational management capabilities. CMMI is managed by Carnegie Mellon University’s Software Engineering Institute, a federally funded research and development center sponsored by the U.S. Department of Defense.
