Carrollton, TX – Southwest Credit Systems, L.P. a national provider of accounts receivable solutions, participated in the United Way Metropolitan Dallas’ United 2020 campaign and raised $9,649.  The funds raised will help improve income, education and health within Dallas, Collin, Rockwall and Southern Denton counties.

Southwest Credit initiated several fundraising activities.  The collection agency made a corporate donation of $1,000 to jumpstart the campaign.  Seventy-eight percent of funds raised was generated by employees who completed a pledge card electing to have an annual percentage of their paychecks donated to the United Way.  Four employees elected to participate in the United Way’s Leadership Giving Program and donated more than $1,000 each.

Southwest Credit also raised funds by securing donated items from several local businesses; which they turned around and used as items for a raffle and silent auction.  Month-long jeans passes were sold that allowed employees to wear jeans during the campaign week and the month following.  Breakfast tacos were also brought in and sold to employees.

“With this being our first time participating in an organized campaign for the United Way, we weren’t sure what to expect,” says Chief Executive Officer, Jeff Hurt.  “We wanted to push our selves, so we set a goal of raising $8,000.  Our management team and employees are excited that we were able to not only meet, but exceed our goal and help the communities in which we live.”

Southwest Credit is committed to corporate citizenship and has supported several causes including a Haiti relief fundraiser, Chile earthquake fundraiser, a Thanksgiving toy drive, and a Christmas toy drive.  The collection agency also participates in company-wide volunteer activities throughout the year, including an upcoming Day of Caring in which employees will volunteer at the local Goodwill to help them prepare for the holidays.  In addition, Southwest Credit encourages its employees to give back to the community by volunteering at nonprofit organizations that they care about. Following one year of continuous employment, a regular full-time employee is eligible to receive one day of paid community-service leave annually.
