Emdeon Business Services announced that George Lazenby, 37, has been named its Chief Executive Officer, effective immediately. Mr. Lazenby has been a key member of the Emdeon Business Services management team and predecessor companies since 1996.

Most recently, as Executive Vice President of Provider Services, Mr. Lazenby led Emdeon Business Services’ provider-facing businesses, which represent about half of the company’s revenue. In this capacity, Mr. Lazenby delivered record sales and revenue growth and was responsible for a number of industry innovations in the revenue cycle management market. Previously, Mr. Lazenby served as Chief Operating Officer of Medifax EDI, which Emdeon Business Services acquired in 2003, where, as COO, he was responsible for managing all provider and payer activities as well as its medical practice management software business.
