A bill introduced in the U.S. Senate introduced January 11, 2017 would amend the Consumer Financial Protection Act of 2010 by transitioning the CFPB to a 5-member Board of Directors rather than a single Director-led structure.

Colorado Holds Hearing on Whether to Sunset Its Fair Debt Collection Practices Act

On January 30 the Colorado Senate Committee on Judiciary held a scheduled hearing regarding its Sunset Review of the Colorado Fair Debt Collection Practices Act (CFDCPA, or The Act). The Act was passed in 1985, authorizing an Administrator to develop and administer licensing of collection agencies.
