News in the ARM industry never stops and determining what’s truly relevant can be a challenge. That’s where insideARM’s weekly recap comes in. Our weekly recap of top stories will give you the news we found most interesting last week and, more importantly, why we think it’s relevant. Last week, we brought you updates about the CFPB complaint portal, insights into the agency’s 2026 Rulemaking plans, and details about Louisiana’s new Consumer Data Privacy law.
On Tuesday we brought you details from Troutman Pepper Locke regarding the CFPB’s 2026 Regulatory Agenda which outlines its planned rulemaking initiatives across the pre-rule, proposed rule, and final rule stages. Though weakened, the CFPB is operating, and it’s important not to lose sight of that fact. This piece is a helpful update into what may come to pass on the regulatory front this year.
On Wednesday we published news from Orrick regarding the CFPB’s plans to address “flaws” in its consumer complaint system. Misuse of the CFPB’s complaint portal has long frustrated ARM industry participants. Time will tell whether the proposed updates will alleviate the issues.
On Thursday we published insights from Maurice Wutscher regarding Louisiana’s new Consumer Data Privacy law. Privacy laws are an emerging area, and each state seems to have its own definitions, requirements, and applications. Though ultimately these laws may not apply to ARM industry participants, it’s important to be aware of news laws and at least glance at them to determine whether your organization or your clients fit within the scope.
