COLLINGSWOOD, N.J. -- On March 21, 2019, MyGovWatch.com (www.mygovwatch.com) sponsored a teleseminar primarily for aspiring higher education and government contractors presented by Nick Bernardo. The teleseminar was titled, How to Improve Your Government & Higher Ed RFP Responses -- 12 Actionable Ways to Win More Bids Starting Today. Teleseminar topics included process improvements in proposal development, ways to make your proposal stand out from the others, and methods of improving brand perception through the bid process.

The presentation included polling that asked attendees to answer questions about their proposal development operations. Among attendees participating in the poll, a few results stood out.

  1. Competitor Pricing Awareness: Attendees were asked if they have a way to consistently know how their competition is pricing bids, such as through the MyGovWatch.com Vendor Center, a tool that lets users instantaneously look up line-item pricing submitted by each bidder for every higher education and government bid in debt collection.  87% of those responding said no, they had no such way to know competitor line-item pricing.
  2. Competitor Marketing Awareness: Attendees were asked if they have a way to study what their competition is saying in their bid responses, such as through the MyGovWatch.com Vendor Center, which also lets users instantaneously look up winning proposals submitted against thousands of higher education and government solicitations in debt collection.  87% of those responding said no, they had no way of gaining awareness of competitor marketing messaging.

All respondents who answered both questions “no” shared one thing in common – none are currently premium users of the MyGovWatch.com website.

Last year’s relaunch of the website for the first time gave users a choice of contracting for unlimited leads and data access through a premium contract or viewing limited information through a new, freemium option.  This new option lets anyone create a free account and receive no-cost bid notices in every industry, including collections, at the Federal, state, and local levels.

Premium users receive timely notice of:

  • New procurement announcements in collections covering 24 classes of debt.
  • Updates on current procurements in the form of addendum tracking and reporting.
  • Award notices for recent procurements announcing winner(s).
  • Availability of award documents obtained through open records requests showing how decision makers selected vendors for individual contracts, including pricing.
  • Pre-notification of future procurements months before they happen.
  • A searchable vendor center that lets users research pricing trends and winning proposals by competitor, geography, and numerous other contract attributes.

For organizations that do not typically compete in the public sector, or that do so infrequently, the site lets users take an opportunistic approach to pursuing opportunities by monetizing access to data and services on demand, such as:

  • Micro-transaction costs to download documents and submit anonymous questions to buyers.
  • The ability to download detailed historical documents related to specific contracts showing how decision makers selected vendors in the past, including pricing, that can be used to make decisions on current procurements.
  • The ability to order open records follow up on demand to find out, anonymously, what happened with bids your organization has recently submitted.
  • The ability to subscribe to the lifecycle of individual contracting opportunities, to be notified when key events happen over time, such as the award of a contract, availability of open records, or impending expiration of existing contracts.
