Lockport, NY: National Recovery Solutions, LLC (NRS www.nrsolutionsllc.com), based in Lockport, NY, today announced it is a woman-owned small business (WOSB) following a company restructuring in which Kinda Baker, a company founder in 2006, took a majority ownership in the firm and assumed CEO responsibilities.

This ownership change enables creditors and government contractors to retain NRS to meet any supplier diversity requirements associated with WOSBs.  Most companies claiming WOSB status incorrectly believe it requires a firm simply to be owned not less than 51% unconditionally and directly by one or more women who are United States citizens.

WOSB status also requires that the ownership must not be subject to conditions. It requires that the woman or women must manage the day-to-day operations of the business and must make the long-term decisions for the business. Companies typically cannot claim WOSB status when the woman or women who purport to run the business hold outside employment or work remotely. NRS proudly meets all of these criteria, and is now seeking third-party certification.  Certification is not required to be a WOSB, but indicates a third-party has examined the operations of the business to verify women not only own it, but run it.

“National Recovery Solutions is well positioned to enhance our existing partnerships and to seek out new partners and business opportunities in the ever changing arm industry.  We have an excellent management team and a great staff and I am excited to lead this company into the future,” said Mrs. Baker, CEO

NRS is nationally licensed, insured, and bonded.  Its leadership team has decades of combined managerial experience in many industries, including in the student loan sector. NRS has worked as a subcontractor on the U.S. Department of Education task orders and has also collected for guarantors and other higher education creditors. The company has obtained SOC II, Type 2 certification.
