The SSI Group Announces Creation of New Collection Services Corporation

MOBILE, AL – The SSI Group, Inc. (SSI) has announced the establishment of a wholly owned subsidiary, MedCore, Inc., to provide bad debt recovery services for healthcare providers nationwide.

“SSI has always had bad debt recovery services, and MedCore will enable us to focus on these services solely,” said MedCore Vice President Mike Ruggles. “All third party collections activities must fall under the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act and this act encompass all collection activities within a company. Since SSI has other products such as extended business and insurance recovery products to offer and, in order to avoid any potential conflict with a collection debtor, it was determined SSI could best protect itself and its collections customers by establishing this new entity.”

MedCore’s recovery services center around a quick and aggressive collection attempt. Utilizing highly automated collection systems and predictive dialing technologies, MedCore’s recovery specialists will deliver highly effective and courteous recovery services. Acting as a third party with strict conformity to federal and state regulations, MedCore aggressively pursues each account in a courteous and professional manner to keep patient complaints to a minimum.

“For SSI’s existing customers there will be no operational change regarding the processing of accounts,” Ruggles said. “We believe this new company will allow SSI to continue its pattern of successful growth by further protecting its customers, while improving bad debt recovery services for existing clients.”
