ACA International, the Association of Credit and Collection Professionals, held its 63rd Annual Convention and Exposition the week of July 17-20, 2002, at Disney?s Yacht & Beach Club Resorts in Orlando, Fla. Nearly 1,000 industry professionals and vendors representing 20 countries attended the four-day event to learn more about critical issues facing the credit and collection industry.
Throughout the week, credit and collection professionals attended seminars on various industry issues, learned about new products and services in the Expo Hall, networked with other attendees and improved business skills through various workshops.
?Convention this year truly lived up to its theme ?Catch the Excitement,? said Gary Rippentrop, CEO of ACA International. ?It was our goal to provide convention attendees with the opportunity to learn and grow as industry professionals, while at the same time having a little fun in wonderful Orlando.?
Capping off a successful week was the President?s Banquet as Nancy Borgen of Credit Bureau Data, Inc., La Crosse, Wis., retired her presidency and became immediate past president of ACA International. Taking her place as the 2002-2003-association president is Vic York of Collection Express Services, Houston, Texas. Members of the Executive Committee serve a five-year term and are voted in by fellow association members to serve in a leadership role, providing guidance and direction for ACA International.
