Investment group Opportunity Partners LP on Friday said it will continue pursuing its $35-per-share bid to buy out Wells Financial Corp. even after the bank holding unit declined the offer and said it was not for sale.
Wells, parent of Wells Federal Bank, on Friday said its board unanimously refused Opportunity Partners’ advance and instead decided to carry out its long-term business plan, which it believes is in the best interests of the company.
