PayPal today announced it received the Webby Award for Best Financial Services site. PayPal was also named the People’s Voice winner in the same category. Hundreds of thousands of Internet users cast their ballots for the People’s Voice Awards to decide their favorite sites from nominees in 60 categories.
Hailed as the “online Oscars” by Time magazine, The International Academy of Digital Arts & Sciences selected PayPal as a nominee and winner from sites based in all 50 U.S. states and more than 40 countries.
“We are honored PayPal has been recognized as the favorite financial services site,” said Dana Stalder, senior vice president of marketing and business operations for PayPal. “To be named the winner of the People’s Voice Awards is especially gratifying, since PayPal continually strives to listen to its customers in order to deliver the most convenient and secure way to pay online.”
PayPal will be honored at the Webby Awards event in New York City on June 12 at Cipriani Wall Street. Hundreds of leaders from the media, advertising, business, technology, entertainment, politics and the arts will attend.

This is the fourth time PayPal has won the People’s Voice Award for Best Financial Services site, and second time the company has been recognized with the Webby Award for the same category.
