VANCOUVER, WA ? Columbia Ultimate announced today that two of its leading software products, ManageMed™ and The Collector System™, currently being used by many clients working healthcare receivables to comply with HIPAA regulations, have new software upgrades that further enhance HIPAA compliancy capabilities.
Part of HIPAA?s intent is to ensure the privacy of patient health information by only giving access to protected health information (PHI) on a need-to-know basis, when it is necessary for the patient to receive care or for the recovery of payment for that care. Columbia Ultimate software facilitates the collection of outstanding payments, while allowing users to conduct business practices consistent with HIPAA regulations.
?Because of the seriousness of HIPAA?s intent and its demands on our customers, we are doing all we can with our software to help simplify compliance and safeguard patients? protected health information,? said Tim Hickey, vice president of product management and marketing for Columbia Ultimate. ?Already our two leading products incorporate tools that can be used to meet compliance standards. Our new versions make meeting the HIPAA regulations even easier.?
