Cape Town, South Africa ? PIC Solutions has been selected by the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) to participate in an outward trade mission to Egypt in February.
Over the past three years, the Information and Communication Technology (ICT) sector has become one of the nationally prioritised sectors in Egypt. The Egyptian government?s long-term objective for the ICT sector is to encourage private sector participation as well as to create an export-driven industry.
The Egyptian trade mission is an opportunity for South African ICT software and consulting services companies to showcase South Africa?s highly developed niche software capabilities. This outward mission is aimed at developing export markets for South African products and services and to recruit new foreign direct investment into South Africa.
Yusuf Timol, Senior Manager of the Electrotechnical division at the DTI comments, ?The African and Middle East ICT industry has changed dramatically over the last number of years, creating a demand for innovative ICT technology. Through this trade mission to Egypt, the DTI can promote South Africa as a provider of the latest ICT products and services.?
Stephen Leonard, Managing Director of PIC Solutions adds, ?PIC Solutions is delighted to participate in this trade mission to Egypt. The DTI is focused on promoting the ICT industry to the international market and these trade missions ensure that South African organisations have the opportunity to promote their expertise and knowledge. We believe that South African based companies have a lot to offer the ICT industry and this initiative will promote our experience to the Egyptian market.?
