The San Diego Chapter (Chapter 4) of The California Association of Collectors (CAC) announced today that it will hold its Creditor Education Day on May 11, 2005.
The one day seminar featuring expert speakers in the field of credit and collections is focused on direct creditors and will include topics such as Successful Collection Techniques for Creditors, the Rosenthal Act, and the Fair Credit Reporting Act. Additional topics include the FACT Act, privacy laws such as GLB/HIPAA, a collection technology panel discussion, Identity Theft and a round robin break-out session focusing on specific aspects of the collection industry.
As part of a community outreach program, this is the first of several events Chapter 4 will host to promote fair and ethical practices within the collection industry. Chapter President Jerry Greenblatt said, ?Programs such as these will help our industry and our community on many fronts such as, helping improve the perception of debt collectors, reducing collection related complaints, improving recruiting and retention, and increasing awareness to creditors that our group is a resource to help with their accounts receivables.?
The seminar is being sponsored by TransUnion and Global Connect. The group stated that there are still limited sponsorships available.
