ICT Group is opening a 230-job call center in Amherst, its third in the Buffalo area, to perform customer service work for banks and financial firms, the company announced Tuesday.
The new location will bring ICT’s local employment close to 750 when fully staffed, officials said.
Based in Newtown, Pa., near Philadelphia, ICT has a 320-job office on Amherst’s Audubon Parkway for financial tele-service tasks. Another 195-job office in Depew performs market research work.
The new site, at 1780 Wehrle Drive near Erie Community College, should be fully staffed with a mix of full- and part-time workers by Jan. 1, the company said.
“We like the labor force here,” said Jack Egan, president of ICT’s financial marketing services division in Amherst. The company picked Buffalo for its expansion because of the qualified and skilled workers here, and to leverage resources at its existing offices. The Audubon office has programmers, trainers and management services that can support the new location, he said.
