Wells Fargo Net Income Rises 10% in Q4 to $1.8 bln

Wells Fargo said Tuesday that fourth quarter net income rose 10 percent on broad-based growth in multiple business lines, but was slowed by higher expenses.

San Francisco-based Wells said income rose to $1.8 billion, or $1.04 a share, up from $1.6 billion, and 95 cents a share for the same period last year.

The results fell short of the average analyst estimate of $1.06 as measured by Thomson First Call.
