FDIC Urges U.S. Banks to Eye Policy Change Carefully

The U.S. Federal Deposit Insurance Corp. on Thursday issued a series of articles urging banks to weigh early on the possible consequences of changes in policies that are not directed at the financial industry.


Analysts at the regulatory agency, in a quarterly outlook article on “stroke-of-the-pen” risks, said changes in monetary policy, the tax code, accounting rules and other policies can have significant and unexpected negative consequences for the banking industry.
