SEOUL – South Korea has approved the integration of Citigroup’s local operations with KorAm Bank following its purchase of South Korea’s sixth-largest lender in May, a financial watchdog said on Friday.
“Citibank will close its domestic branches after handing over all its business to KorAm,” the Financial Supervisory Service said in a statement.
The new integrated entity will be called Citibank Korea Inc.
