Nova Buys $2.3 billion Payment Processing Portfolio

Nova Information Systems announced Wednesday it has bought SouthTrust Bank’s payment processing portfolio from Wachovia Bank.

Atlanta-based Nova, a wholly-owned subsidiary of Minneapolis-based U.S. Bancorp, will provide processing services, customer service and support operations to SouthTrust’s 16,000 merchants.

The credit and debit card processing volume from SouthTrust’s portfolio is expected to generate $2.3 billion a year, according to a Nova press release.
