WATERLOO, IA ? Over the past 10 years, The CBE Group, Inc. (CBE) developed proprietary col-lection software tailored to the demanding requirements of its government and commercial clients. Custom Account Tracking Intelligence (cat.i) is a powerful, flexible, and highly scalable accounts receivable management system with decision-making ?artificial intelligence? needed to support effective operational strategies and telephone campaigns.
The cat.i system fully documents all collection activities and enables CBE to quickly and effi-ciently ramp-up for new account placements and automated collection activity in a controlled envi-ronment. CBE owns the copyright to cat.i, and the company?s in-house IT staff is continually en-hancing the software, making it one of the most powerful systems in the collection industry.
As a strategy-driven system, cat.i can segment accounts using any criteria available, such as pay-ment history or credit bureau score. The cat.i system uses algorithms to define an account?s prob-ability of collection and help prioritize accounts. In addition, the system can sort accounts based on proprietary ?relative collectability? tables that use a matrix of account attributes.
?We?re seeing incredible results with the cat.i system,? said Pam Brodsack, CBE?s Vice President of Information Technology. ?By applying principles from other successful collection software packages on the market and adding customized features using Microsoft .NET programming, we?ve developed a system that works extremely well for us. We?re excited to put cat.i to work for our cli-ents and demonstrate how it enhances CBE?s performance.?
CBE?s cat.i software is not available for sale commercially at this time.
Data Warehouse Offers Additional Benefits To enhance the capabilities of its cat.i collection system, CBE developed a Red Brick data ware-house. All information documented in cat.i is downloaded into the data warehouse daily. By stor-ing data in a centralized repository, CBE can perform valuable testing, analysis, and reporting for its management team and clients.
The data warehouse enables CBE to:
- Generate analysis reports using virtually any combination of data
- Track results that stretch over multiple years to determine performance trends
- Pinpoint extremely specific types of data to examine strategies and identify opportunities for improvement
Tom Penaluna, CBE?s President and Chief Executive Officer said: ?Connecting cat.i with a data warehouse enables us to give our clients meaningful, detailed information and a wealth of manage-ment tools and reports. Clients can see exactly how we?re meeting their requirements and expectations month-to-month, and even day-to-day.?
