CR Software Acquires GWA Information Systems, Inc.

Fairfax, VA ? CR Software, Inc. (CRS), the leading collections solutions provider for collection agencies and corporate debt recovery departments, announced today that it has acquired GWA Information Systems, Inc., a software developer specializing in accounts receivable management systems and Internet-based debt recovery.

Editor’s Note: We are pleased to announce that our sister company, Kaulkin Ginsberg(www.kaulkin.com), advised CR Software in this transaction.

Currently, CR Software supplies state-of-the-art software solutions internationally to leading collection agencies, including NCO Group (the world?s largest collection agency), CCB Credit Services, KCA, Triad Financial Services, Viking Collections and Williams & Fudge. This acquisition means that CR Software users can expect to gain even greater software functionality and the benefit of GWA?s years of collections and technical experience. This also gives CR Software an operations site in New England, to add to the existing sites in New York, Pennsylvania, Virginia and Colorado.

Martin Germanis, President of CRS, describes the acquisition as part of CR Software?s ongoing meteoric growth, ?While we?ve been around for 20 years, CRS has grown exponentially over the past three years. The growth is fueled primarily by the strength and functionality of our software and technical support, but also by acquisitions such as this one. We had strong new sales, and we?ve seen huge inroads with customers converting from other software systems to ours. We have been very successful at painlessly converting complex data from other systems into our seamless system. We are becoming known as the industry expert in converting data.?

CR Software has a strong record of successful acquisitions. Just two years ago, CRS acquired Pyramid Computer Services. Currently, 85% of the former Pyramid users have converted to an enhanced version of CR Software combining the best of both companies. Steve Gayheart of KCA, one of the nation?s leading collections agencies, was a Pyramid software user and converted to CRS: ?CRS showed great professionalism in the conversion. They knew what they were doing. Their integrated predictive dialer is far and away better than anything we have used in the past. We truly feel that with CR Software, we have a brighter future as a collection agency because of their direction and purpose as a company.?

The CRS/GWA acquisition will include many integrated functions for software users. In addition to the powerful software that collections entities use to run all aspects of their business (inbound and outbound call management and skills based routing), there are many integrated offerings for even greater functionality in one package. CRS provides the state-of-the-art, fully integrated predictive Mercury dialer (high speed automated phone dialer that routes calls to agents) and an interactive voice response (IVR) system (automated phone voice recognition and command processing and routing system). Also included is an integrated imaging system (immediate agent electronic access/storage of documents such as checks, credit applications and invoices). In addition, CRS provides network systems for satellite offices with features such as secure Internet access to systems for collection clients and customers, firewalls, digital security keys, and secure Virtual Private Networking (VPN). A graphic user interface (GUI) also rounds out the software offering.
