U.K. Regulator Looking Into MBNA

MBNA Corp. said on Tuesday the United Kingdom’s Office of Fair Trading has requested additional information from the credit card company as it investigates default fees for items like late payments and returned checks.


In August 2004, MBNA said the British regulator had challenged the credit card issuer’s default charges in that country as a result of a probe spawned by parliamentary criticism of the high penalties levied in the industry.
