PSC Info Group, a national provider of innovative, technology-enabled solutions and proven revenue acceleration tools to streamline the collection of consumer payments, has achieved yet another level of compliance with its first Statement on Standards for Attestation Engagements No. 16 (SSAE 16) Type II. Awarded by the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA), SSAE 16 Type II is a critical evaluation of a company’s procedures and processes to ascertain their effectiveness and to test them over an extended period to ensure that defined procedures are actually performed and are effective.
“To achieve SSAE 16 compliance is an important accomplishment for PSC Info Group,” said Michael Hennessy, the company’s CIO. “We understand that our clients rely on us to offer the highest level of security and controls. This rigorous audit provides our clients with clear assurance that the controls and safeguards we employ to protect and secure their data are superior.”
SSAE 16 is a new standard designed to replace SAS 70 as the benchmark compliance report for organizations impacted by privacy and security regulations. Both are internationally recognized auditing standards developed by the AICPA and represent that a service organization has been through an in-depth audit of their control activities, which includes controls over information technology and related processes. SSAE 16 is intended to create a more global, unified standard by more closely aligning United States standards with international standards.
