Lou Figueroa, the President of Credit Decisions International, Ltd. (an Elk Grove Village, IL based commercial collection agency) attended the annual gathering of commercial collection agencies from all over Europe (including some from Asia and Africa) representing 28 different nations.  Mr. Figueroa was one of only a few delegates attending from the United States.

A number of highly relevant topics affecting the global economy were the basis of the educational programs.  These included programs on the economy of Greece, European laws relating to collections, the Euro justice system, collection costs and a global collections review all presented a series by highly qualified and experienced professionals.  Besides the educational forums, there were a number of business networking events where the international collections community were able to share ideas and opinions while sharing meals and visiting some of the sites of ancient and modern Greece.

“Getting to meet other collection professionals face-to-face share how they view the global collection business was very informative,” stated CDI President, Lou Figueroa.  He went on to add, “I can see how important it is to interact and share new and innovative ways of doing business to help us better serve our clients’ needs anywhere in the world”.

FENCA was founded in 1993 and is the non-profit making umbrella of various other national European collection agency associations.  17 countries comprise the membership of the association which hosts events for Europeans and others in the collections industry.
