NEW YORK – A new senior executive management team was announced today by IntelliRisk Management Corporation (IRMC), a premier provider of customer management solutions specializing in customer retention, accounts receivable management, and collections services.


In making the announcement, President and CEO Vikas Kapoor said, “IRMC will become a performance-driven company through the application of leading edge analytics models, state-of-the-art technology, and superior operational performance. The people we have assembled are the best in their fields and will help us achieve our performance objectives.”


The appointments include:


Norman Merritt, Chief Financial Officer, has a distinguished career as a well-respected operations executive in both corporate and entrepreneurial settings. Merritt joined IRMC after serving as President, Consumer Direct Division of MortgageIT, the largest privately held mortgage bank in the US with more than $12 billion in annual loans.


Prior to MortgageIT, Merritt was Executive Vice President, Sales and Travel Operations for Universal Studios in Orlando, FL, where he led the growth of his division from $60 million to more than $275 million in a two-year period and managed a staff of 300 employees. Prior to Universal, he was Vice President, Product Development and Travel Industry Marketing for The Walt Disney Company. At Disney, Merritt held a number of executive positions over a 10-year period.


Merritt holds an MBA from Harvard University Business School, a bachelor’s in accounting from Brigham Young University, and is also a Certified Public Accountant.


Gary Praznik, Chief Client Officer, is a veteran with more than 20 years of experience in the credit and collection outsourcing industry, holding numerous positions, including Chief Operating Officer, Marketing Manager, District Marketing Manager, Regional Marketing Manager, and District Vice President.


Prior to joining IRMC in April 2000, Gary held several positions with OSI, including Senior Vice President of Marketing for Outsourcing Services and Vice President/General Manager of the Teleservices Division. Gary began his career in 1984 with Payco American Corporation.


Sarah Davies, Executive Vice President and Chief Analytics Officer, has extensive executive management experience in the financial services, airline, Internet and media industries. Her core expertise is to leverage analytics and information to optimize business opportunities.


Prior to joining IRMC, Davies served as Senior Vice President/International Business Development and Marketing for Advanta Business Services responsible for the international expansion, U.S. Market Segmentation and third-party revenue services.


Prior to Advanta, she was Executive Vice President of Marketing Operations at First USA Bank, a subsidiary of Bank One, where she led the 300-employee operation. While in this position, she led a significant business re-engineering that reduced materials expenses by $30+ million and improved end-product quality by 75 percent. Additionally, for the Collections division at First USA, Davies was Senior Vice President of Analytics, Strategy, Scoring and Operations Optimization.


Davies holds a master’s in industrial engineering from Iowa State University and a bachelor’s in management science and operations research with first class honors from U.C. Swansea in Wales.


Michael Nugent, Executive Vice President and General Counsel, joined IRMC from General Electric, where he was Special Counsel for Technology, E-Commerce and Privacy. Nugent has a long career in technology, intellectual property, electronic commerce, consumer protection, telemarketing and financial services, and debt collection law. Prior to GE, he was a partner at the law firm of Heller, Ehrman, White & McAuliffe, heading up its Financial Technologies Practice Group.


A practicing attorney since 1978, and admitted to the bar in New York, Washington, DC and the U.S. Supreme Court, Nugent also served for more than a decade as General Counsel of Technology and Intellectual Property for Citibank, where he launched Citi’s highly successful patent prosecution program, a first of its kind in the financial services industry. In addition, he was General Counsel for Walker Digital, LLC, Government Affairs Counsel for Electronic Data Systems, Counsel at Perot Data Systems and Deputy General Counsel for the Information Technology Association of America (formerly, ADAPSO).


Nugent is the author of a number of professional articles and is a frequent speaker at professional and trade association meetings. Nugent graduated from Georgetown University with an undergraduate degree and received his J.D. from Catholic University Law School where he was a member of the Law Review.


Christopher Dorval, Executive Vice President and Chief Marketing Officer, has provided strategic consulting services for a mix of Fortune 500 companies, governments and non-profit organizations. He has developed corporate identity, branding, marketing and advertising campaigns and managed a number of sensitive issues that played out in the public arena.


Dorval has been running his own successful marketing and communications firm in Washington, D.C. Previously, he was appointed by President Clinton to serve at the White House as the Director of Communications at the National Economic Council, and also served as a presidential appointee as the Vice President of Communications at the Export-Import Bank of the United States. He is a graduate of Georgetown and Harvard universities.
