Conifer Consolidates Former Dell Division

Conifer Health Solutions LLC, a billing and collections subsidiary of Tenet Healthcare Corp., will consolidate the former Dell Inc. revenue cycle services division it acquired last year into one office in St. Ann, Mo., according to the St. Louis Post-Dispatch.

Conifer will close  offices in Missouri, Kentucky, and Tennessee and move more than 100 jobs to St. Ann, the newspaper reported.

Conifer Health Solutions provides healthcare business process management services to more than 500 hospitals and healthcare providers. The Dell revenue cycle services division had 800 employees managing 34 clients.

Calvert Memorial Hospital Opens Patient Access Service Center

Calvert Memorial Hospital in Prince Frederick, Md., had centralized and consolidated its patient access services as of Jan. 29.

According to the Southern New England News Net, patients now need only call one number to schedule appointments, get insurance information, or receive instructions about diagnostic tests or procedures. The Patient Access Service Center also will advise patients of any out-of-pocket expenses and of any preparation required.

Mission Health Moves PFS to New Quarters

Mission Health in Asheville, N.C., has consolidated its revenue cycle departments and put them under one roof in a newly leased building away from the clinical departments, the healthcare provider reported.

Some 350 employees will be moved to the new facility between March and June, Mission Health said in a press release.

Southern Humboldt Community Healthcare District Restructures PFS

The Southern Humboldt Community Healthcare District in Garberville, Calif., has restructured its Patient Financial Services functions, according to a report in the Redwood Times.

The healthcare provider hired a new PFS director, Brenda Magee, in November. Magee formerly served as the former business office manager at Tehachapi Hospital in Bakersfield.

Miller named ‘Associate of Quarter’ at Sturgis

Donna Miller was named Associate of the Quarter at Michigan’s Sturgis Hospital for the fourth quarter 2012, according to the Sturgis Journal.

The honor is given to a Sturgis Hospital associate who provides superior customer service and exemplifies a dedication to serve others in and out of the organization.

Miller has been employed for 16 years in the patient financial services department.
