The Commercial Law League of America (CLLA) is pleased to announce that it has selected association professional Anthony Hilvers as its new executive vice president. Hilvers officially assumed the EVP role at the CLLA’s recent Fall Meeting, held in New York City from Nov. 8-10, 2012.

Hilvers previously worked for IPC — an association for manufacturing service companies in the printed circuit board and electronics assembly industry, with 3,100 member companies — for 29 years, most recently as its vice president of industry programs.

“After an extensive search, the CLLA has chosen Tony Hilvers as our new executive vice president,” says CLLA President Ivan Reich, shareholder at Gray Robinson, Fort Lauderdale, Fla. “We are excited to have him on board and feel his association and trade show experience will help the CLLA extend its growth and expansion efforts.”

While at IPC, Hilvers was responsible for the association’s market research, government relations and environmental policy, meetings and professional development departments.

Hilvers also oversaw the association’s management councils and the IPC APEX EXPO, named one of the top 25 fastest-growing U.S. trade shows in attendance in 2012 by Trade Show News Network.

Hilvers launched IPC’s first exhibition and first certification programs and formed an electronics manufacturing services industry segment, which is the association’s second largest membership category.

Hilvers received his B.A. from Loras College in Dubuque, Iowa, and his masters degree from the University of Iowa in Iowa City, Iowa.

“I am excited to join the CLLA,” Hilvers says. “The league members are passionate about their association and play an active, vital and historic role in the commercial law and credit industries, providing expertise, insight and results to credit grantors, attorneys and other industry members.”

Since 1895, the CLLA has connected experienced attorneys with credit grantors, lending institutions and other members of the commercial credit, bankruptcy and general finance industries, providing new business opportunities through networking, education, legislative advocacy and highly effective specialized legal services.
