Cohen & Slamowitz, LLP, a law firm specializing in retail credit collections in New York State, is pleased to announce the promotion of Denise Pavlides, Esq. to the position of Managing Compliance Attorney.

Denise has been practicing law since 1990 and joined Cohen & Slamowitz in 2011 as a member of the firm’s Compliance Department.  Prior to joining Cohen & Slamowitz, Denise was an Assistant District Attorney in the Appeals Bureau of the Nassau County District Attorney’s Office.  In her twelve years with the District Attorney’s Office, Denise wrote numerous appellate briefs on a variety of issues, including those related to the prosecution of white-collar crime, and argued cases before the United States Second Circuit Court of Appeals; the New York State Court of Appeals; and the New York Appellate Division, Second Department.  Denise also was an Administrative Law Judge for the New York State Liquor Authority for three years.

In her new role as Managing Compliance Attorney, Denise will be overseeing the day-to-day operations of the Compliance Department, in addition to assisting the Partners to ensure that all aspects of the firm’s work product meet the clients’ as well as the firm’s high expectations and standards.
