With the U.S. Postal Service proposing an emergency postal increase of 5.9% across the board, raising first-class stamps to 49 cents, ARM agencies that heavily rely on mailed communications will need to bolster their online communication programs to combat the incurred postal costs.

Online payment portals, email communication delivery, outbound IVR call campaigns, and text messaging are a few options currently available on the market that can help satiate the need to quickly deploy an electronic communication program. Many of these technology tools can be seamlessly added to existing online payment portals, allowing agencies to quickly launch opt-in and –out programs as part of an on-going strategy to remain compliant while sending electronic communications.

RevSpring recently sponsored a two-part educational webinar series that discusses launching a multi-channel communication program and using online payment technology to collect a variety of payments that are more convenient and flexible for consumers such as scheduled, recurring, and negotiated payments. The archived webinars can be viewed here:

With over 75% of Americans living from paycheck to paycheck and the potentially increased cost of mailing a document, ARM organizations must take a more aggressive stance, working together with their legal counsel and vendors to create a multi-channel communication and payment approach that will not only benefit the organization with tremendous cost savings but will also provide new channels that consumers are quickly adopting and preferring.
