D&B Receivable Management Services (D&B RMS), a leading global supplier of receivable management services, has announced the launch of its innovative CashNow financial product.
Under CashNow, D&B RMS in an alliance with Receivable Partners Inc (RPI), purchases a company’s performing and non-performing accounts receivable portfolios. This innovative product shifts any major risk from the customer (seller) to the purchaser of the portfolio in terms of collectibles. At the same time it provides the customer (seller) with cash now-in the form of improved cash flow, and the ability to focus on their core competencies.
Performing commercial portfolios are defined as portfolios containing receivables that are typically 90 days or less in age from the original date of sale. Non-performing portfolios contain receivables that are greater than 90 days in age. Often, customers with non-performing receivables will engage D&B RMS to collection under the D&B Receivable Management Services name. CashNow offers a viable option.
“D&B RMS’ combination of scoring technology and servicing capabilities, in conjunction with RPI’s existing relationships with underwriters and financial institutions, has allowed us to access the capital markets,” said David Huebner, President and CEO, D&B Receivable Management Services. “CashNow allows customers to see immediate cash for their portfolios, remove debt from their balance sheets and reduce their overall collection costs.”
While there is a due diligence process to valuing a receivables portfolio for sale, D&B RMS’ Recovery Score provides an important indicator; it predicts the likelihood of collecting on a receivable. Other indicators include the age of the receivables in the portfolio and the customer’s (seller’s) credit, sales and internal collection policies.
“We are pleased to partner with D&B Receivable Management Services,” said Ben Waisbren, President, Receivable Partners Inc. “Our unique strategic alliance with D&B RMS enables us to use their Recovery Score to provide funds to D&B RMS’ customers on competitive terms. Receivable Partners has relationships with major investment banks and asset management firms that allow it to invest in accounts receivable.”
