The National Association of Retail Collection Attorneys (NARCA) presented its 2012 NARCA President’s Award to attorneys Tomio Narita of the San Francisco law firm Simmonds & Narita LLP, and June Coleman of the Sacramento office of the law firm Kronick Moskovitz Tiedemann & Girard.  The announcement was made at the NARCA 2012 Fall Collection Conference in Baltimore, Maryland.  The NARCA President’s Award recognizes outstanding leadership in NARCA which is of such magnitude that NARCA may not have achieved its current position of excellence without the recipients’ efforts.

Ms. Coleman and Mr. Narita and were recognized for their leadership in cultivating and co-chairing the NARCA Defense Bar Steering Committee.  The Committee develops educational offerings for NARCA’s Conferences aimed at providing timely and useful information to NARCA Members. The Committee also creates opportunities to provide “community” to attorneys who provide defense services to the NARCA members.

The National Association of Retail Collection Attorneys (“NARCA”) is a nationwide trade association of over 700 skilled debt collection law firms.  Members are required to adhere to NARCA’s Code of Professional Conduct and Ethics, and attorneys employed by NARCA member law firms are committed to the fair and ethical treatment of all participants in the debt collection process.  They are required to practice law in a manner consistent with their responsibilities as officers of the court and must adhere to applicable state and federal laws, rules of civil procedure, state bar association licensing and certification requirements, and the rules of professional conduct. www.narca.org.
