Floyd Marceaux was greeted with four surprise awards for his service to the community at Thursday’s Port Arthur, TX Rotary Club meeting.
Marceaux received a special proclamation from the city of Port Arthur, a certificate of recognition from St. Catherine of Siena Catholic Church, a recognition from the Port Arthur Public School Foundation and an appreciation award from the Retail Merchants Association for 50 years of service.
“I am most appreciative and thankful. I had no idea I would be receiving these awards,” Marceaux said.
Marceaux began his career in 1954 as a 14-year-old errand boy for the Retail Merchants Association. Fifty years later, he is still there.
“I do not plan to retire anytime soon,” he said.
